ANNOUNCEMENT! Caterpillar 6015B [CCM 1:48]

This week CCM has announced a new scale model in their 1:48 Die-Cast series:
  • Caterpillar 6015B Hydraulic Mining Shovel
Building on the robust and productive Caterpillar 5110B, the in 2015 new released Caterpillar 6015B Hydraulic Mining Shovel delivers a productivity advantage over other 100 ton shovels thanks to the most powerful engine in its class, a large standard bucket and payload capacity of 14.6 tons. The design translates to fast cycles and a pass match advantage over leading standard-equipped shovels in its class when loading trucks of 55, 65 and 90 ton capacities.

The Caterpillar 6015B Hydraulic Mining Shovel is equipped with a single Caterpillar C27 ACERT™ 12-cylinder diesel engine that provides 813 HP. As with all hydraulic shovels, the greater the engine power, the greater the digging power and the faster the digging cycles. The 10.6 cubic yard standard bucket, outfitted with Caterpillar C70 hammerless GET, further boosts production capability.

With the standard bucket, the Caterpillar 6015B is optimized to fill a Caterpillar 773 Off-Highway Truck in four passes, a Caterpillar 775 Off-Highway Truck in five passes, and a Caterpillar 777 Off-Highway Truck in seven passes. These Caterpillar Off-Highway Truck models are commonly found in heavy construction, quarry/aggregate and small to mid-size mining operations across the globe.

NEWS FLASH! TCC visits 60Conrad 1956-2016

Saturday, June 25th 2016 Conrad Modelle celebrated in grand style the 60th anniversary of the company.

Conrad Modelle (previously Gescha) is a German manufacturer of Diecast scale models primarily in 1:50 scale for use both as toys and promotional models by heavy equipment manufacturers. Conrad had the Caterpillar line of construction vehicles starting late 1960s through about 1992, but then the licenses changed over to Norscot.

imageConrad is a name that stands for the art of taking a different view of things, which is what their business is all about. Only at first glance does the appeal of a miniature lie in its size – what is much more important is the ability of discovering maximum detail in minimum dimensions. This process begins in the mind – or, more accurately, with a well-trained eye.

Conrad’s Vision

The company’s special approach of realizing small-scale models is both based on the aspects of tradition as well as innovation to ensure the products high quality and visible accuracy in detail.

G√ľnther Conrad has been running the company since 1987. Supported by his wife Gerdi – and now also by their daughter Christine – the Conrad Company is a perfectly managed family-owned company.
At the open house to celebrate the 60th anniversary were family, friends, relations and collectors from around the world treated to a huge event in and around the company. Outside were 1:1 examples of the scale models produced by Conrad. Inside there was the opportunity to visit both the museum as well the very rare chance to see the production facility where one could assemble the 60th anniversary model itself. A unique glimpse behind the scenes.

Friend, Caterpillar scale model collector and professional photographer Thomas Wilk from TCC Photowork was invited and made an exclusive photo shoot of his visit to this special day in the history of Conrad Modelle in Nuremberg.
